Carnegie and Knight Foundations Fellow – News21- New York, N.Y. May – August 2009
Reported and produced a multimedia package comparing two successful charter schools in Newark, N.J., one small and founded by local teachers, the other, large and backed by a national network of charter schools. Helped build project Web site. Worked side by side with 43 other fellows from Columbia, Harvard, University of California-Berkeley, USC, Missouri, Maryland, Texas, Syracuse, Arizona St. and Northwestern.

Media/Legislative Analyst – First International Resources – Washington, D.C. June 2005 – August 2008
Conceived and pitched story ideas for international and U.S. clients resulting in articles appearing in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. Attended congressional hearings and wrote summary reports outlining legislative implications and policy trends for clients. Helped plan events for clients.

Online Account Manager – DCS Internet Strategy – Washington, D.C. August 2004 – May 2005
Helped launch start-up online political consulting firm. Managed constituent outreach e-mail programs and Web campaigns for Democratic members of Congress including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. Wrote content for campaign Web sites in 2004 election cycle.

AmeriCorps Volunteer – Houston Home of Your Own – Houston, Texas July 2003 – July 2004
Assisted low-income individuals with disabilities and their families purchase homes. Conducted monthly orientations for prospective homebuyers. Helped supervisors write grant proposals for organizational funding.

Language: Proficient in conversational Hindi.
